After more than half a year, Samsung’s 200 million pixel photoreceptor has launched a new product. The ISOCELL HP3 released this time is 1/1.4 inch in size and has a single pixel size of 0.56μm, which is 12% smaller than the previous generation HP1 of 0.64μm, and the camera module area is also expected to be reduced by as much as 20%. Unsurprisingly, this 200MP CMOS also supports 4-in-1 or 16-in-1 pixels, and can respond to different light environments with an equivalent 50MP 1.12μm or 12.5MP 2.24μm mode.
At the same time, the HP3 also supports “Super QPD Autofocus”, and all pixels have the autofocus function. It can record 8K 30fps or 4K 120fps video, and it can also combine the image information generated by the two conversion gains of low ISO mode and high ISO mode through intelligent ISO Pro technology to generate better 14-bit HDR image. At present, Samsung has provided samples of ISOCELL HP3 to customers, and the mass production time will be within 2022.
