To appeal to relatively price-conscious content creators, Samsung has brought two new ViewFinity S8 monitors. They come in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes and use a 3,840 x 2,160 IPS LCD matte panel. Both products have 98% DCI-P3 color gamut and 1 billion colors (estimated to be 8-bit plus FRC instead of true 10-bit), as well as Pantone’s color correction blessing. The 32-inch model is also DisplayHDR 600 certified and should be able to handle some HDR work, while the 27-inch model is only DisplayHDR 400.
ViewFinity S8 supports height adjustment as well as tilt and swivel screens, and is VESA wall mountable. In addition, these two new products can also play the role of dock. They can supply up to 90W of power to mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other devices through USB-C, and you can also use them to transfer data or connect to the Internet. Not surprisingly, ViewFinity S8 also provides eye protection and can optimize the display according to the environment.
The Samsung ViewFinity S8 monitor will be available globally from the end of June, and the 27-inch and 32-inch models have been confirmed to be available in Korea at 720,000 won and 820,000 won.
