Samsung Electronics, after semiconductors, LED products are also certified as ‘carbon footprint’

Samsung Electronics received the ‘Carbon Footprint’ certification for LED products along with memory and system semiconductors.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 22nd that it has obtained ‘Product Carbon Footprint’ certification from the Carbon Trust for 20 next-generation memory semiconductor products following four types of system semiconductor products in September. Five types of memory products, HBM2E (8GB), GDDR6 (8Gb), UFS 3.1 (512GB), Portable SSD T7 (1TB), and microSD EVO Select (128GB) received ‘Carbon Reduction Certification (pictured)’.

The product carbon footprint is a certification granted to products that have been calculated according to the carbon footprint calculation standard (PAS 2050) from the production to disposal of the product. The Carbon Trust is responsible for supporting, sharing, and certifying new technologies and innovations to reduce carbon emissions. In addition, ‘C-Series’, four types of electric LED package products, received ‘Carbon Footprint Certification’ from UL, a global safety science company, for the first time in the industry.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is launching a new ‘Smart Monitor’ M7 White Edition in the domestic market. Samsung Smart Monitor is an ‘all-in-one screen’ that is equipped with a smart hub and can enjoy the advantages of both a monitor and a smart TV.
