According to the telecommunication industry on the 22nd, it is estimated that pre-order sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 reached 450,000 units until last weekend. It is expected to easily exceed 600,000 units only through advance reservations through telecommunication companies until the 23rd. The industry reaction is that it is not difficult to achieve 800,000 units if Samsung Electronics directly sells self-sufficient units.
This is 10 times more than the Galaxy Z Fold 2 sold 80,000 units last year. Even considering the sales volume of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 added, it is an undeniable fact that it is the highest level among Samsung Electronics’ smartphone pre-orders. Compared to the Galaxy S21, which started selling at the beginning of this year, the sales speed has more than doubled, and it is 1.5 times that of the Galaxy Note 20 released last year.
The sensuous design and price competitiveness compared to its predecessor seem to have influenced the surge in pre-order sales. In the case of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the price is reduced by 400,000 won compared to the previous model and can be purchased at 1,98,700 won. Samsung Electronics is spurring the popularization of foldable phones and plans to complete the lineup leading to the Fold, Flip, and Galaxy S series.
