Samsung Electronics tablet shipments in India increased by 83% in the third quarter thanks to strong sales of the Galaxy Tab A series of low-end tablets.
According to the latest report by CyberMedia Research, an Indian market research company, the Indian tablet market in the third quarter of 2022 (July-September) grew by 22% compared to the previous quarter.
“If this growth trend continues, the Indian tablet market will register a healthy growth of 10-15 percent this year,” said Cybermedia Research.
Samsung Electronics took first place in the Indian tablet market with a 28% share in the third quarter, followed by Lenovo and Apple with 26% and 19% market shares, respectively, in second and third place.
Among Samsung tablets, entry-level tablets such as ▲ Galaxy Tab A8 ▲ Galaxy Tab A7 Lite Wi-Fi and 4G models accounted for 25% and 18% of the total market share, respectively. Thanks to sales of low-end tablets, Samsung’s quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth rate reached 83%.
Apple iPad shipments grew 26% QoQ in the third quarter, with the iPad 9 Wi-Fi version and iPad Air 2022 Wi-Fi version recording market shares of 57% and 15%, respectively.
