Samsung launched its first anti-lost tag, the Galaxy SmartTag, in 2021, but there are rumors that a second-generation model will be released later this year (2023).

According to SamMobile sources familiar with Samsung’s unannounced products, the second-generation Galaxy SmartTag is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2023. We don’t know the exact specifications at the moment, but SamMobile logically thinks that it an enhanced security measure that prevents exploits such as wireless signal range, audio volume, and stalking.
Speaking of new product launch events that Samsung is holding in the second half of the year, it will be “Galaxy Unpacked” between summer and autumn. Last year in August, the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 foldable smartphones were unveiled at the same event.
It seems likely that the second-generation Galaxy SmartTag will be announced later this year at the same time as the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5, as well as the next-generation Galaxy Buds3 wireless earphones and the new smartwatch Galaxy Watch6.
In the field of anti-lost tags, Apple seems to have had success since the launch of the AirTag in 2021. Google is also entering this market.there are rumorsperhaps the competition is heating up.
