Santosh Sivan remembers an incident from Iruvar movie location

There will always be some movies that remain a favorite no matter how many years pass. One of them is ‘Iruvar’. The film is based on the political careers of Tamil politicians MGR and Karunanidhi.

Aishwarya Rai made her acting debut in this political drama which featured notable characters in the acting careers of Mohanlal and Prakash Raj. Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film was shot by Santosh Sivan. Now, Santosh Sivan is sharing an interesting incident during the shooting of the film.

Santosh Sivan narrates an interesting incident that took place during a critically acclaimed shot where Prakash Raj and Tabu were talking on the ground. Santosh Sivan shared that while it was time to shoot the top angle scene, sweat fell on Tabu’s body and Tabu complained about it. Santosh Sivan said this in an interview to Manorama.

“There weren’t as many technical developments then as there are today. It was difficult to adjust the focus. If I were you I would sit on top of it and sweat. Then Tabu said, “Sweaty, this is where I fall.” Nowadays it is easy but when it is taken like that it can be improvised, ”said Santosh Sivan.

‘Iruvar’ was released in 1997. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played a similar role to Jayalalithaa in the film, which stars Mohanlal as MG Ramachandran and Prakash Raju as Karunanidhi. Tabu played the role of Senthamara. Director and cinematographer Santosh Sivan has already said that his most satisfying film is ‘Iruvar’.
