CALIFORNIA: The Sacramento Regional Association of Malayalees (Sargam)’s online festival Bharatanatyam ‘Utsav Season 3’ is in its final stages. The judging event will be held in two rounds and the top 10 will be announced on April 16 (sub-junior), April 23 (junior), April 30 (senior) and May 1 (adult).
The winners of the event will be announced on May 15, Grant Final Day. More than 100 contestants from North America and Canada will be the judges of the competition.
The final round will be judged by Dr. Sheela Unnikrishnan, who has made a name for himself in Melathur Bharatanatyam, Pavithra Bhatt, who has won many awards in the field of dance, and Guru Girija Chandran, who has excelled in the field of Bharatanatyam for over forty – seven years.
The best performers in the competition will also have the opportunity to participate in the Bharatanatyam Workshop conducted by Dr. Rajasree Warrier, who has proven proficiency in Bharatanatyam.
Led by Bhavya Sujay, Bini Mukundan, Padma Praveen, Sangeetha Indira and Selva Sebastian, Sargam President Mridul Sadanandan told News Media that everyone is invited to watch the Utsav Season 3 matches and the grand finale. Secretary Wilson Nechicatt said it was a great achievement to be able to organize a dance program for the second year in a row at the international level. Along with Sargam Chairman Rajan George, Vice President Cyril John, Treasurer Sangeetha Indira and Joint Secretary Ramesh Illikkal requested that the event be a great success.
