Few people will not have heard the song ‘Satyabhame’ which is full of social media and Instagram reels. The remix of the song from the 1980 Kannada film Ravichandra is now viral. Twenty-four-year-old Sanjit Hegde is behind this remix, which is only 25 seconds long.

The song Sathyabhame composed by Upendra Kumar was one of the most popular songs of that time. Rajkumar himself has sung and acted in this song. The song which was familiar only to Kannada movie lovers is now being sung by the whole of India through singer Sanjith after 42 years. Sanjith’s songs have appeared in numerous chart hits in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. Sanjith also acted in the Telugu anthology ‘Pitta Kathalu’ in X Life with Shruti Haasan. ‘Satyabhame’ viral

When I thought of making any of the short pieces of music, I chose Satyabhame as my favorite song. The original Satyabhame is very popular in Karnataka. It’s a very beautiful song. It was not easy to sing but I always sang in my own way. I love all the songs of Rajkumar sir. So the Satyabhame viral remix was made in 15 minutes. Happy to know that ‘Satyabhame’ is now universal and the song is enjoyed all over India.

‘I grew up listening to Malayalam songs’

The Malayalam music space has inspired me a lot. All songs have cultural parallels. Similarly, I like the works of Vidyasagar Sarin, Johnson Sarin, Jakes Bijou and Sushin. I grew up listening to the songs of Avial, Job Kurian and Rex Chetan. Most of the people in the album I am working on are Malayalis. Engineer Sujith Sridhar, Shanku Chetan, Guitarist Sunil Chetan, Keyboard Player Joe Johnson. I am lucky to work with them. Some people are also asking if Malayalam will be remixed. It will definitely do. But more than that, I want to become a part of the Malayalam industry by singing songs.

Will there be a full version of the remix?

Many people have been asking for full version of satyabhame remix in comment boxes…want to but I am trying to finish my album which I have written since last 3-4 years. My aim now is to bring them to the people in my constitution.
