Savalenka wins women’s singles at Australian Open first major championship

In the women’s singles final of the Australian Open tennis tournament (total prize money of 76.5 million Australian dollars), Arina Savalenka (5th, Belarus) took her first major championship trophy in her life.

Sabalenka faced Elena Rivakina (25th, Kazakhstan) in the final match held at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia on the 28th (Korea time) and won with a set score of 2-1 (4-6 6-3 6- 4).

The first set was won by last year’s Wimbledon champion Livakina. After the score of the match was balanced at 4-4, Sabalenka struggled and surrendered the set after giving up the match on a double fault.

However, in a close match in the second set, Sabalenka took a 4-1 lead, held her service game, and returned the set score to 1-1.

In the 3rd set, the match score was 3-3, and in the 7th game, Sabalenka managed to break and take the lead, making it 5-3.

Sabalenka, who had reached the semi-finals three times in singles at previous majors, won the final in her first match of the day.
