Scanner not working well on Mac, Apple releases fix patch-iPhone Mania

Apple offers a temporary solution

The error message states that you should contact your computer or network administrator for assistance, or that your Mac has failed to open a connection to your device.

Mac recommends that you follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Close all open apps.
2. Choose Go> Go to Folder from the Finder menu bar.
3. Type / Library / Image Capture / Devices and press Return.
4. In the window that opens, double-click the app listed in the error message. This is the name of the scanner driver. Nothing happens when I open this app.
5. Close the window and open the app you were using for scanning. The new scan should be successful. If you scan with another app at a later date and get the same error, repeat the steps below.

Apple’s support page states that a future software update will resolve this issue.
