School to open in Karnataka; Weekend lockdown in districts bordering Kerala | Karnataka Schools

Bangalore: The Karnataka government is all set to open schools. Classes 9 to 12 will start on August 23, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomme said.

The government has also decided to impose weekend lockdowns in districts bordering Kerala and Maharashtra. The decision to reopen the schools came after an expert committee meeting chaired by the chief minister on Friday.

Schools in Tamil Nadu may reopen from September 1

Chennai: Classes 9 to 12 in Tamil Nadu will start from September 1. Shrines are closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to prevent people from gathering in one place at the same time. Nursing and medical allied colleges will be open from 16 with special restrictions. The lockdown in Tamil Nadu has been extended for another two weeks with new restrictions. The lockdown will continue until 6 a.m. on the 23rd.
