Jeddah: The second phase of Saudiisation of local distribution centers and supermarkets in Saudi Arabia will take effect from Monday. The Saudiization process is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. Supervision work at sales outlets will be 100 per cent restricted to locals.
The department will localize all the jobs in the field such as supervisor, accounting, fund supervisor, customer service and customer accountant. But only half of the jobs such as department manager, branch manager and assistant branch manager will be repatriated.
On October 13, 2020, it was decided to localize sales outlets, supplies and supermarkets. The second phase of Saudiization follows the expiration of Grace’s term of office. Saudiization is carried out in shops of a certain area. If the area of Supplyco is not less than 300 square meters and the area of supermarkets is not less than 500 square meters, then nationalization should be implemented from tomorrow.
Earlier, 100 per cent Saudiisation was done in sales outlets such as customer accountant, accounting fund supervisor, customer services and customer relations. The ministry aims to create more jobs for Saudi youth.
