Professor Seo Kyung-deok of Sungshin Women’s University responded that the Chinese state media criticized Yoo Jae-seok, a broadcaster who made a statement about bias in the short track speed track at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, saying, “China provided an excuse for anti-Chinese sentiment.”

The Global Times, the English version of the Chinese state media, Global Times, introduced the remarks made by Yoo Jae-suk on MBC ‘What do you do when you play?’ aired on the 19th and said, “Yoo Jae-suk, the best Korean comedian and broadcaster who has many fans in China, is trying to solve the conflict between the peoples of the two countries. You should not make any encouraging comments.”

At that time, Yoo Jae-suk said, “I couldn’t take the lead when the Chinese athletes advanced to the final because our athletes were disqualified for reasons they did not understand. I was very angry,” he said.

Then, on his Facebook page on the 25th, Professor Seo pointed out, “How did the Chinese view Korea’s representative entertainment programs in the midst of the Korean War?

Then he asked, “Why doesn’t the Global Times of the Global Times say anything about the behavior of Chinese people who are always spying on Korean content before criticizing Korean celebrities?”

Professor Seo pointed out, “Why haven’t we been publishing articles on the infringement of portrait rights of Korean celebrities, sales of goods that have been stolen without permission, and cases of stealing the format of Korean entertainment programs?

In addition, “Why didn’t we cover the film that portrayed a Korean short track skater as a ‘foul king’ during the Olympics to inspire anti-Korean sentiment and inspire patriotism in their own country? It’s a world-class feeling,” he said.

Professor Seo said, “The Global Times and the Global Times should know that it is the Chinese side that provided the excuse for the anti-Chinese sentiment.
