[스포티비뉴스=정유진 기자] A netizen is drawing attention for a review about being sued for leaving a malicious comment on singer Sung Si-kyung.

Netizen A, who said that he was sued for posting malicious comments to Sung Si-kyung, posted on an online community on the 26th with the title ‘Review of being sued for insults’.

Mr. A said, “I was sued by sg who said he was making a mass accusation.” He said, “I sued for a single comment in 2019. The content of the comment was ‘Thinking is short, but the central part is long.’ I came under investigation,” he wrote.

He continued, “When I first got the call, I thought it was voice phishing. But I was very nervous from that time because my nickname and what I wrote were the same. .

“When I asked a police officer, he said that defamation is a more severe punishment than insult,” said Mr. A in detail about the investigation process. Person A said, “I am really embarrassed to be investigated. I am being investigated within the cybercrime team, and there are all the other police officers. When I write a statement, they ask me every single question. ‘Is this your nickname?’, ‘Why did you write this?’ Did you think about how you would feel?” “Who did you refer to when you wrote it?” and so on.”

He continued, “After I write all of my affidavit, I take a lot of thumb marks while checking my identity for the last time. When I write all of my affidavit, they print it out, but I have to take a picture of each piece of paper.”

Person A explained, “Before returning home, (the police) also informed me of the sentence, but he said that my comments were mild compared to the other defendants and that I would not have to worry too much because I submitted a reflective letter.”

He also showed an attitude of reflection, saying, “I will know the exact result only with me, but I really did not want to experience it again.

At the same time, he also advised on how to deal with being sued for malicious comments. Person A said, “I just accidentally wrote my personal opinion. I think it would be helpful to say something like, ‘I’m sorry if the victim was offended and suffered psychological damage’.” I have to say that I am regretting it.”

In addition, he added, “If anyone has been accused, be sure to write a letter of remorse. It is said that doing so will lower the sentence.”

Person A did not reveal the real name of the accuser, but it is presumed that Seong Si-kyung sued because of the consonants of the name he mentioned and the accuser’s ‘mass accusation’.

Earlier, on January 20, Sung Si-kyung appointed a legal representative and sued malicious commenters for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Defamation) and insults.
