Seongjae Lim, 1st President’s Cup Golf Power Ranking… Kim Joo-hyung is the ‘Energizer’

In the President’s Cup Golf Tournament which starts this week, Korea’s Sungjae Lim and Joohyung Kim are highly expected as the key players of the international team.

The President’s Cup, a men’s golf competition between the United States and non-European international teams, begins on the 22nd (Korea time) in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.

Among the 12 players in the international team, there are four Korean players: Im Seong-jae, Kim Joo-hyeong, Lee Kyung-hoon, and Kim Si-woo.

According to the power ranking presented by the US PGA Tour on the Internet website, Im Seong-jae was ranked first and was evaluated to play the role of ‘ace’ of the international team, and Kim Joo-hyung was also ranked fourth.

Regarding Im Seong-jae, he said, “I am expected to play almost every day because he is the most versatile among Korean players.

Sungjae Lim also had a good record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss at the 2019 Australian Championships, the previous Presidents Cup.

Kim Joo-hyung also said, “This is my first time participating in the competition, but it’s a locomotive that moves forward at full speed.”

In particular, the PGA Tour Internet homepage published a separate article about Kim Joo-hyung, and Joo-hyung expressed Kim as the ‘Chief Energy Officer’ of the international team.

As for Kim Joo-hyung, who is 20 this year, the PGA Tour evaluated that he “set a record for being the youngest player to win 2nd place on the PGA Tour since the Second World War.”

International Team Manager Trevor Immelman (South Africa) also praised Kim Joo-hyung as “a great player full of passion”, saying, “Joo-hyung Kim is young but mature and flexible.”

Kim Joo-hyung also said, “I want to infuse energy into the team. I will take on such a role.”
