Im Seong-jae (23, CJ Logistics) maintained 17th place on the third day of the Northern Trust (total prize money of $9.5 million), the first round of the PGA Tour playoffs.

In the third round of the tournament held at Liberty National Golf Club (par 71) in Jersey City, New York, USA on the 22nd (Korean time), Im Seong-jae recorded five birdies, one bogey, and hit a 4-under 67.

Im Seong-jae, who recorded a 10-under par 203, tied for 17th with Lee Westwood (England), Kevin Na, Keegan Bradley, and Charlie Hoffman (USA).

Seongjae Lim, who finished 17th in the second round, caught the first birdie on the 2nd hole (par 3). He hesitated to bogey at the immediately following 3rd hole (par 4), but succeeded in birdies on the 6th (par 5) and 9th (par 4) holes, reducing two strokes only in the first half. In the second half, Im Sung-jae recorded birdies on the 11th hole (par 3) and 12th hole (par 4). Seongjae Lim, who continued to save on par with stable game operation, finished the game with a 4 under par and maintained 17th place. Only players who are in the top 125 of the FedEx Cup during the regular season can participate in this tournament. After this competition, only the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup ranking will qualify for the BMW Championship, which starts on the 26th. Afterwards, only the top 30 can compete in the final tournament, the Tour Championship (September 2-5).

Lee Kyung-hoon (30, CJ Korea Express), who participated with Im Seong-jae and passed the cut-off, caught two birdies without bogey and recorded a 2-under-par 69, and tied for 50th with a 5-under-par 208 in the middle. The ranking is down 4 places from the previous day.

Jon Lam (Spain), who ranked first in the tournament’s power ranking, made a double bogey, but wrote 7 birdies and hit 4 under par, taking the lead with Cameron Smith (Australia) with a total of 16 under par 197.

Smith swept 11 birdies without a body on that day and shot an 11-under 60, taking the joint lead at a tie in 25th place.

Meanwhile, the final round of the tournament, which was scheduled for the 23rd, was postponed to the next day, the 24th due to a hurricane forecast.
