The plan will start next year, then expand in 2023-2024, and mature around 2025-2026. The total investment is 2.9 billion won. At that time, various city government services can be provided in Metaverse, including the virtual mayor’s office, Seoul Fintech Lab, Seoul Investment, and Seoul Campus City.
As the first demonstration project, the Bosingak Bell Ringing Ceremony for Seoul City’s annual welcome will be held on the Yuan Cosmos platform. The Seoul Metropolitan Government hopes to become the first city government in the world to provide complete services in Metaverse. South Korea has always been very prosperous in the development of blockchain, and the degree of government digitization is also very high. However, whether the promotion of Metaverse can be accepted by the local citizens this time, we need to continue to pay attention.
