‘Separated by color throughout life, even in our own India’

New Delhi: Former Indian leg-spinner and commentator Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has said that he has faced discrimination on the basis of color throughout his life. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has played 9 Tests and 16 ODIs for India. It is also noteworthy that his revelation comes in the wake of the racism controversy in English cricket.

‘Throughout my life I have been criticized and discriminated against on the basis of color. Therefore, I do not care about it now. But the worst thing is that this is happening in his own country ‘- Lakshman Sivaramakrishnan wrote on Twitter. Lakshman Sivaramakrishnan is not the first Indian to reveal that he has faced racial discrimination. Tamil Nadu opener Abhinav Mukund had made a similar allegation in 2017. Mukund has played 7 Tests for India.

Former Yorkshire cricketer Azeem Rafique’s revelation that he was facing racial segregation had shaken English cricket.
