Severe Kovid disease in lions and puma in South Africa

Pretoria: Severe Kovid infestation of lions and puma at zoos in South Africa. Kovid was transmitted to animals by asymptomatic staff at a zoo in Pretoria. In 2020, two Puma became Kovid patients. The disease was cured in 23 days. The University of Pretoria, which studied the animals, reported symptoms of diarrhea, runny nose and digestive problems. Kovid caught three lions in mid-2021, when the Delta variety was at its worst. One had pneumonia. Here, too, the disease became serious. This suggests that the disease progressed from human to animal. However, the study suggests that the virus may be re-mutated in animals and that it may spread to humans. Here the university also puts forward the possibility of new variants.
