I sewed the Cozy Sweater by Ida & Tilda – three times! The pattern is easy to implement and you can sew it with animal appliqués: lions, bears, mice or foxes are included. Without appliqué, the sweater for children is sewn particularly quickly. I have made a very detailed video for you, so that you can also implement the raglan sweater as a great beginner.
In the video I also show you:
- how you can work the appliqués with Stretchfix
- how to attach labels
- 3 ways to sew cuffs
- how to sew neck bindings
- extra tip to avoid getting confused with raglan cuts
The Cozy Sweater is available in sizes 62 to 134. You can order it as a paper pattern or use it as a digital pattern to print out.
Note: Only comments directly on YouTube count for the raffle.

Simons and Boris are behind Ida & Tilda. Here you will find many great children’s patterns and also a few patterns for adults. The patterns are available as e-books and sometimes also as paper patterns. As a special feature, there are also three partner outfit patterns for mum and child in a partner look.

The raglan sweater is great for beginners and the animal appliqués are easy to sew. I use Stretchfix to fix the individual parts before sewing. I prefer to use jersey for such applications – but other fabrics are also conceivable. Structured fabrics or fabrics with a pile can also be used here. If you are sewing a raglan sweater for the first time, you should consider working the sleeves in a different color than the front and back. This way you don’t get confused so quickly, because the four pattern parts are very similar.
