[마이데일리 = 최용재 기자]Dani Alves, one of the biggest football stars in the world, has been arrested on a charge of sexual assault.
Alves has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in a club in Barcelona on December 31 last year. The victim filed a complaint, and Alves was immediately taken into custody despite denying the charges. Alves was also released from his Pumas team.
Alves’ side strongly insists on his innocence.
Alves’ older brother, Ney Alves, appeared on a Spanish television program and said, “My brother is suffering from the devil’s plan. He will do that,” he said. It was also reported that Alves had hired a lawyer from a top Barcelona law firm to plead his innocence.
The victim’s position was also revealed. The victim emphasized that Alves was in great pain.
Spain’s ‘Marca’ conducted an interview with the victim’s lawyer. According to him, Alves raped her without using a condom, and the victim had to be treated for sexually transmitted diseases in hospital. In addition, the severely traumatized victim received psychiatric treatment.
The victim’s lawyer said, “She is supported by a public organization that specializes in the treatment of victims of sexual violence. Alves did not use condoms, so she even received treatment to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. She also received psychiatric treatment and he takes medicine,” he said.
He also said, “She remembers vividly every scene of that night. She made a concise statement without any contradiction. She remembered everything from beginning to end. She did not drink that night. She reported the sexual assault immediately . . . This was the decisive factor in the immediate detention of Alves, who is rich, famous and has dual citizenship.”
