Shin Jin-seo’s Celltrion advances to PO by defeating Com2Staygem

Celltrion, led by Jinseo Shin, 9th Dan, the No. 1 Go ranking in Korea, advanced to the playoffs in the 2021-2022 KB Kookmin Bank Go League. On the 27th, Celltrion defeated Com2Stay Gem 3-0 in the third round of the Go League semi-playoff held at the Go TV Studio in Majang-ro, Seongdong-gu.

Celltrion, with a series record of 2 wins and 1 loss, advances to the playoffs and competes with POSCO Chemical, the 2nd placed team in the regular league, for a ticket to the championship game by winning 3 out of 2 games.

Celltrion was the first to announce victory in the third round of the semi-playoff final, when first-nominated Shin Jin-seo lightly defeated Com2us’s Tigem’s fifth-designated Han Sang-jo 4th dan.

With this victory, Jinseo Shin recorded 24 consecutive victories in the Baduk League since March last year, breaking the previous record of 23 consecutive wins held by Won Seong-jin 9 Dan.

Following Shin Jinseo, Celltrion won 8th dan Kang Seungmin and defeated Park Jinsol 9dan, leading them to 2 wins.

Lee Won-do, 8th Dan, who participated in the 3 countries, was defeated by Com2Staygem’s 2nd nominee Han Seungju 9th Dan until the end.

However, at the end of the match, Han Seung-joo caused a ridiculous misunderstanding and got a lucky comeback victory thanks to cannabis caught.

Celltrion, which was the winning team last season, went through the play-in tournament and wild card game in 6th place this season, and thus passed the semi-playoffs and advanced to the playoffs.

Celltrion and POSCO Chemical’s play-off season 3 begins on the 30th.

The team that wins the play-off will play the 5th championship match against the regular first-place team, Sooryehanhapcheon, starting on the 7th of next month. yunhap news
