Shinhan Bank’s limit of 100 million won from the 30th… upper limit has been lifted

Major commercial banks, which lowered the negative account limit to 50 million won due to financial authorities’ regulations, are returning them to the previous limit one after another.
Shinhan Bank announced on the 29th that it will increase the limit of negative bankbooks for office workers, which is currently 50 million won, to 100 million won from the 30th. In addition, the limit of credit loan products, such as Elite Loan and Loan for Workers, will be adjusted from 150 million won to 200 million won after 30 days. Shinhan Bank lowered the limit of negative bankbooks in January and February of last year and also lowered the limit of credit for employees in accordance with the financial authorities’ policy to curb household loans.
NH Nonghyup Bank is also considering returning the negative account limit to 250 million won from the 4th of next month. Nonghyup Bank’s credit loan limit was lowered to 20 million won last year, but increased to 100 million won in January and 250 million won in February.
From the 4th of next month, Woori Bank will also increase the limit of negative bankbooks from 50 million won to 80 million to 300 million won depending on the type of product. Woori Bank’s credit loan product, ‘Woori won (WON) employee loan’, will also be doubled from 100 million won to 200 million won.
Previously, KB Kookmin Bank and Hana Bank also returned negative bankbooks and credit loan limits to pre-regulation levels. However, the measure of limiting credit loans to less than 100% of annual income has not yet been lifted. Before household debt management was strengthened, the maximum credit loan limit was 150% of annual income, but since last year, it has been limited to less than 100% of annual income.
