Centurion: South Africa Cricket Team captain Alviro Petersen has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Petersen also said that D’Coque is expected to sign contracts in various Twenty20 leagues and one hundred tournaments. Peterson said the financial gains in the T20s will change the minds of the players and lead to their early retirement.

Quinton de Kok, 29, announced his retirement from Test cricket yesterday. De Kok said the reason for his retirement was to spend more time with his family. De Kok made his Test debut in 2014. He played in 54 Tests for South Africa, scoring 3,300 runs at an average of 38.82. Of the current South African squad, only Dean L. Garr has more Test runs than De Kok.

He has six centuries to his name. He also captained the team. De Kok returned from Test cricket at the age of 29 after playing his last match on the same ground where he scored his first Test century. He has scored 5355 runs in 124 ODIs with 16 centuries and 1827 runs in 61 International T20s.
