Thodupuzha: Police said that the gun seized from the accused in the murder case of Sanal Sabu in Moolamattom was not licensed. Expert examination revealed that it was not a handgun and was manufactured by the company. Defendant Philip Martin told police that he bought the gun in 2014 from an ironmonger from Karinkunnam for Rs 1 lakh. Meanwhile, Sanal’s body, which was brought to Janmanad after postmortem, will be cremated today.

Based on the statement of the accused Philip Martin, the police inquired about the iron worker at Karinkunnam plantation to know the source of the gun. The ironworker was confirmed dead two years ago. The ironworker provided a double-barreled rifle that could fill two waves at the same time. Philip Martin took Sanal’s life with this gun.

Need to find out if the defendant received the waves to load the gun. When Philip was taken into custody on the day of the incident, two bullets were found inside the gun and one from the vehicle. Police are also investigating the source. Defendant was shot in front of an attic in the closet and at the AKG intersection.

It is also being investigated whether more waves have been kept by the accused. The gun in Philip’s possession was capable of firing several bullets into a single shot. The study found that the gun was a weapon that could endanger many people if it was shot in a crowd. Meanwhile, the funeral of the deceased Sanal will take place today. His friend Pradeep, who was with Sanal, is in critical condition.
