It was Shreyas Iyer’s debut in the Indian Test team. Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar hands over his Test cap to Iyer. Shreyas’ father Santosh Iyer is happy that his son has made his Test debut. Santosh Iyer says he wanted to see his son play more in Tests than in T20s and ODIs.
For the last four years, Santosh’s Whatsapp dp Shreyas has been celebrating India’s Test success in 2017. Shreyas stands with the crowned champions when India beat Australia 2-1 to become the champions. Now, Santosh has clarified why he has never changed his WhatsApp DP since 2017.
Shreyas was part of the team in the series but never got a chance to make his debut. The photo of Shreyas standing with the trophy in the test jersey was made by Santosh Whatsapp on that day. He has been waiting for the last four years in the hope that his son will soon play in Tests for the country. That is what is being accomplished now.
I have not changed WhatsApp DP since then. I did not change this to remind him that this must be the ultimate goal. Santosh said he was thrilled with what had just happened. He added that he had told him to keep looking for a place in the Test team.
Iyer joins KL Rahul due to injury and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested. In the second innings, Iyer was named in the playing XI. That too in excellent form. Iyer’s rescue operation came at a time when India were on the verge of collapse in the Kanpur Test. Shreyas was unbeaten on 75 off 136 balls, including two sixes and seven fours. Fans are watching to see if Shreyas Iyer will complete his century on his debut.
