SIE said it is pleased to be the first in the console membership service to offer an updated game library through PlayStation Plus, and to launch a first-of-its-kind console game streaming service through PlayStation Now. The new PlayStation Plus subscription service will be launched in June this year, which combines PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now and offers three membership tiers to bring more choices to customers around the world.

Benefits: Enjoy up to 240* additional games with all the benefits of the Basic and Upgrade tiers, including: PS3 games via cloud streaming Streaming and downloading of beloved classics from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations The option provides cloud streaming access to original PlayStation, PS2, PSP and PS4 games included in the Upgrade and Premium tiers in markets** where PlayStation Now is currently available. Customers can use PS4 and PS5 consoles and computers to stream games. This tier will also offer a limited-time game trial service, allowing customers to try some games before purchasing them. The newly introduced upgrades and premium tiers are a major milestone in the evolution of PlayStation Plus. Through these different tiers, we’re committed to ensuring that the hundreds of games we offer showcase our most diverse and best-in-class content. Games we expect to include at launch include Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal. Working closely with the creative developers at PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, we look forward to delivering one of the best gaming experiences through our regularly updated content repository. We’ll have more details on the games included in the new PlayStation Plus service in the near future.
With the launch of the new PlayStation Plus service, PlayStation Now will be integrated into the new service rather than being a standalone service. PlayStation Now customers will transition to PlayStation Plus Premium, and there will be no increase in their current subscription fees when the new service is launched.
In view of the large scale of the launch of the new PlayStation Plus service, we will launch it in stages. In June, we’ll launch the service first in several markets in Asia, followed by North America, Europe, and other PlayStation Plus-enabled regions around the world. We expect to launch the new PlayStation Plus game subscription service in most PlayStation Network-enabled regions by the end of the first half of 2022. We also plan to expand cloud streaming benefits in other markets and will provide more details in the future.
