Sinaloa: They give 20 years in prison to a woman who starved her baby to death

The mother of an eleven-month-old girl who died of severe anemia due to lack of food in the city of Guamúchil, in the municipality of Salvador Alvaradowas sentenced to 20 years in prison and payment of funeral expenses and damage repair.

At the Central-North Zone Criminal and Oral Criminal Justice headquarters, in the abbreviated procedure hearing of criminal case 300/2022, the Control and Prosecution Judge handed down the sentence against the girl’s mother, Mrs. Amanecer Aurora “N “, upon being declared responsible for the crime of aggravated homicide by reason of kinship.

According to the investigation folder, it was established that on November 18, 2022, the minor was found dead at the mother’s home. The data and evidence collected showed that, since September of the same year, Mrs. Dawn Aurora “N” stopped feeding her daughter adequately.

Because of that, the eleven-month-old girl suffered severe malnutrition that caused her death, Therefore, on November 23 of last year, the arrest warrant was issued and at the initial hearing, the accused and her defense attorney accepted the duplication of the term and in the continuation of the hearing, she was linked to the process.

On May 29, in the abbreviated procedure hearing, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and payment in the amount of 10 thousand 372 pesos with 20 cents for funeral expenses and 864 thousand 350 pesos to the representative of the minor.

Regarding this case, on November 18, 2022, the mother of the minor requested the help of Red Cross personnel, since the latter observed that the baby was no longer breathing, the paramedics appeared at a house in the 10 de Mayo neighborhood. , from the City of Guamúchil, and certified that the girl had no vital signs.
