Singapore, where Corona 19 is being promoted, has the highest number of new corona 19 virus infections (COVID-19) in history.
According to Reuters on the 27th local time, Singapore’s Ministry of Health announced on the same day that there were 5,324 new cases of Corona 19 as of the previous day.
This is the first time that Singapore has more than 5,000 confirmed cases.
The Singaporean government switched to a gradual recovery of daily life in July, the so-called ‘with Corona’, and started easing social distancing in August.
After that, the number of new confirmed cases started to increase from the end of August, and in early October, it reached the 3,000 level a day, steadily maintaining the level of around 3,000, and then suddenly increased significantly that day.
Singapore’s Ministry of Health said in a statement that “the number of infections is exceptionally high” and that “the cause of the spike in such a short period of time is being investigated and we will monitor and follow the trend over the next few days.”
Also, 10 people in their 50s and 90s who were confirmed died on the same day from complications related to COVID-19. Of those who died, only one was not vaccinated.
With this, the number of deaths from COVID-19 in Singapore has risen to 349. Currently, 84% of Singapore’s population is vaccinated.
