The conflict between singer Young-tak and Yecheon Brewery, a maker of Young-tak makgeolli (Maeil Newspaper, January 10) is expected to enter a new phase.

It is because Yecheon Brewery recently announced that it had been acquitted of the charges of defamation by spreading false information by Yeong-tak, but it was confirmed that the prosecution’s request for a re-investigation was made earlier than this.

According to the police, on the 5th, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office requested a re-investigation at the Gangdong Police Station in Seoul, which is the sending agency. The prosecution, who reviewed the case record, seems to have determined that sufficient security for the police investigation into the case is necessary.

However, on the 10th, Yecheon Brewery’s side announced that the Gangdong Police Station in Seoul, which is investigating a case of attempted blackmail, decided not to send it on the 3rd due to insufficient evidence.

In fact, it is difficult to say that the case has been acquitted because the re-investigation is in progress.

Because of this, there are also rumors that Yecheon Brewery is conducting a ‘witch hunt’ targeting Young Tak. This is because the Yecheon Brewery side made an official statement saying that even after knowing that the re-investigation was ongoing, a few days passed and they were acquitted of the charges.

On the 19th, Yecheon Brewery’s side announced that they had sued singer Young-tak, Young-tak’s mother, and the representative of his agency on charges of false accusation.

Regarding this, an official from Yecheon Brewery said, “We made an official statement after hearing that the police had disregarded the case on the 3rd, and we have not heard of any re-investigation.”
