The Kansas City area will hit late on Tuesday afternoon.
The Kansas Department of Transport said their teams will start snow plowing in the Kansas City area as soon as it starts to fall. A spokeswoman said that some of the main routes from previous treatments have some salt residues, which could help to digest today's accumulation. Officials expect the temperatures to stay in a field where the rock salt and other road treatments are melting effectively.
Cities like Shawnee and Olathe said they are happy to work during the storm to clear roads. Both cities said that they will use similar strategies to Friday, when a storm of more than four inches of snow was dumped in certain parts of the metro.
On the Missouri side, the transportation division of Lug spent on truck maintenance and repairs. It is hoped that teams will be available on Tuesday evening.
Kansas City, Missouri, spent the wake of residential streets to stay on the first round of winter weather.
The supervisor of the public works in Raytown said the city will keep the storm overwhelming. It was hoped that teams would be placed on the roads to treat them in the afternoon.
Many cities said sunlight was over the weekend with lots of snow from Friday's weather, which will make the Tuesday storm easier to handle.
MoDOT wishes to remind drivers of observing the road conditions, and driving accordingly. The driver officers prefer to stay out of the roads and roads during the storm thickness.
