In a remarkable display of strength and skill, Solomon Thomas emerged victorious at the 23rd Kerala State Men’s and Women’s Classic Powerlifting Championship held in Kannur. Representing Kottayam district, the 51-year-old powerlifter clinched the gold medal in the Master 2 and 93 kg category.
Thomas, already a decorated athlete, can add this recent triumph to his collection of accolades. He has previously secured two gold and one silver medals at the state level, further solidifying his status as a formidable competitor. Notably, he secured the top spot at the Kerala State Classic Bench Press competition in Alappuzha on December 11 and claimed a silver medal at the Kerala State Classic Powerlifting Championship in Fort Kochi on July 30, 2022. Additionally, Thomas seized gold in the 100 kg category at the Kottayam District Pancha Gusti Championship held in October last year.
It worth mentioning that Thomas has a longstanding passion for sports and has previously excelled in bodybuilding and wrestling during his school and college days. Kottayam: Solomon Thomas won a gold medal in the 23rd Kerala State Men’s and Women’s Classic Powerlifting Championship held in Kannur. 51-year-old Solomon won first place by contesting for Kottayam district. In the competition held on September 23 in Kannur, the actor was competing in the Master 2 and 93 kg category.
Solomon Thomas has already won two gold and one silver medals at the state level. He had won the gold medal in the Kerala State Classic Bench Press competition organized by the Kerala State Powerlifting Association at Alappuzha on December 11. He also won a silver medal in the Kerala State Classic Powerlifting Championship held at Fort Kochi on July 30, 2022. In besides, the Grandmaster also won gold in the 100 kg category in the Kottayam District Pancha Gusti Championship held last October.
After winning a gold medal twice in a district level body building competition, Solomon Thomas has won a gold medal four times in a state level wrestling competition during his school-college studies. Solomon’s coach is Bijinsangi Thiruvananthapuram, who is an Indian powerlifting champion and has received the title of strongman many times.
