Some specs of ‘Galaxy A24’ 2023 leaked… Old Exynos 7904 installed?

Some specifications of the Galaxy A24 model, a mid-range smartphone from Samsung Electronics in 2023, have been leaked.

The Galaxy A24 is the successor to the A23 that was released earlier this year. According to Vietnamese media The Pixel, the Galaxy A24 has a 6.24-inch SAMOLED display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution. It is still unclear whether a water drop notch or punch hole cutout design will be applied.

In particular, The Pixel draws attention by claiming that the old Exynos 7904 will include the old ‘Galaxy A24’. The Exynos 7904 chip was announced in January 2019. Manufactured on a 14nm process, it is an octa-core chipset that includes two high-performance Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores -efficient clocked at 1.6GHz.

In addition, it has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and provides a 4000mAh battery that supports 15W charging. There is a 16MP camera mounted on the front, and a triple camera that includes a 48MP main camera with OIS support + an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera + a 5MP camera mounted on the back.

The authenticity of the leaked specifications is yet to be confirmed. Compared to Galaxy A23 specifications, the processor and main rear camera are downgraded, but the front camera is upgraded from 8MP to 16MP, and the front display is also expected to be upgraded from LCD to an AMOLED panel.

However, in the case of processors, it is not clear whether Samsung will install an older processor, which is well over three years old, in the A24. The Pixel’s report may be incorrect. Given that the Galaxy A23 has a 6nm Snapdragon 680G chip, some point out that it is nonsense that a 14nm Exynos 7904 chip will be installed in the successor model.
