The accumulated national tax arrears, which is the amount in arrears for which the extinctive prescription of the right to collect national tax has not passed, is divided into ‘arrears during settling’, which is highly likely to be collected, and ‘arrears with collection pending’ with low probability of collection. Among them, the amount of arrears with reorganization was 88.5 trillion won, which was slightly lower than in June of last year (88.79 trillion won), but accounted for 88.5% of the total arrears. The amount of arrears during reorganization was 11,453.6 billion won, an increase of about 1.5 trillion won from June last year (9.94 trillion won), accounting for 11.5% of the total arrears.

Looking at the accumulated arrears by tax category, value-added tax was the largest at 26.8 trillion won (36.3%), followed by income tax of 22.5 trillion won (30.4%), capital gains tax of 11.9 trillion won (16.1%), and corporate tax of 8.5 trillion won (11.5%). was sequential.

Last year, the National Tax Service recorded 334.5 trillion won in tax revenue, up 20.6% (57.2 trillion won) from the previous year (277.3 trillion won). The ratio of tax revenue from the National Tax Service to total national tax was 97.2%, an increase of 0.1 percentage point compared to 2020 (97.1%). The total national tax consists of tax revenue from the National Tax Service, customs duties, customs duties, and special tax for rural areas.

By tax category, income tax was the largest at 114.1 trillion won (34.1%), followed by value-added tax of 71.2 trillion won (21.3%) and corporate tax of 70.4 trillion won (21.0%).
