Heung-Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur) challenges the 4th English Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month.
On the afternoon of the 6th (Korean time), the EPL Secretariat announced that Heung-Min Son, Raheem Sterling, Joao Cancelo (Manchester City), Martin Odegor, Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Mason Mount (Chelsea), James Madison (Leicester City). The EPL Player of the Month will be revealed next week after a fan vote and expert panel votes.
Heung-Min Son was named Player of the Month in September 2016, April 2017 and October 2020. Son Heung-min appeared in 5 EPL matches in December last year, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist, while Tottenham achieved 3 wins and 2 draws. The EPL Secretariat said, “Tottenham’s undefeated streak under Antonio Conte is thanks to Son Heung-min.
Among the 6 competitors, the players with fewer attack points than Son Heung-min are flank defender Cancelo (1 goal, 1 assist in 6 games) and Midfielder Madison (3 points, 1 assist in 5 games). December’s candidate strikers have more attacking points than Son Heung-min. Sterling has scored 5 points and 1 assist in 5 games, Mount has 4 points and 3 assists in 7 games, Odegor has 3 points and 3 assists in 6 games and Martinelli has 3 points and 2 assists in 6 games.
Conte, along with Manchester City manager Josef Guardiola, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, was nominated for the December managerial position.
