Song Hae (95), the oldest active entertainer and national MC, gave an update after a year and a half after stopping the recording of ‘National Singing Contest’.
Songhae appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Recent Olympiad’, which was released on the 13th. In the video, Song Hae lost about 7 kg of weight compared to before, but still boasted of her corrected appearance.
He said, “This year is the 42nd anniversary of the National Singing Contest. It’s a program I’ve enjoyed for 42 years, so it’s a shame to keep it up, so I selected it as a special and it’s currently airing,” he explained after stopping the recording.
Also, as the most memorable performer, the oldest participant, a 115-year-old woman, was selected. Song Hae said, “Only his ears were a little dark and he was very charismatic.” He said, “He goes for a lot of drinking (walking).
Lee Sang-byeok, a broadcaster, was chosen as the successor MC of the ‘National Singing Contest’ to succeed him. Song Hae said, “Among my juniors, all the people who say they do comedians are in that line.
He added, “Lee Sang-byeok asked me how it went when I promised to hand over my seat. When I told him to wait another 30 years, he said, ‘Then I will be over 90.'”
Songhae also thanked the fans for taking care of her health. He clenched his fists, saying, “Even if health is innate, if you don’t take care of it, you will lose it. Wherever I go these days, I say let’s fight with our fists. The people who are watching now, let’s fight together.”
Meanwhile, Song Hae, who was born in 1927, turned 95 this year. He made his debut as a member of the Changgong Theater Company in 1955, and served as the MC for the National Singing Contest for 6 years from 1988. After that, Kim Seon-dong served as the MC for a while, but Song Hae returned in 1994 and has been the MC of the ‘National Singing Contest’ until now. Last year, the documentary ‘Songhae 1927’, which shed light on his life history, was released.
