Sony is expected to be absent from ‘Gamescom 2022’.
In this regard, German media gameswirtschaft reported that Sony had confirmed their intention to not attend.
‘Gamescom’ is one of the world’s top three game exhibitions, and it is predicted to be held offline for the first time in two years since the outbreak of Corona 19. ‘Gamescom 2022’ will be held in Cologne, Germany from August 23 to 28 local time.
Sony is one of the companies that have been actively participating in ‘Gamescom’ for a long time. The company made headlines by showing Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding and Marvel’s Iron Man VR game at ‘Gamescom 2019’.
However, following Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, Take Two Interactive, and Wargaming, Sony also announced their absence from participation, so users’ interest in Gamescom is expected to cool somewhat this year.
In particular, fans who have been waiting for new information on the new VR (virtual reality) device ‘PlayStation VR2’ or the new ‘God of War Ragnarok’ seem to have to wait for the next event.
On the other hand, according to Gamesvirzshaft, about 60,000 tickets were sold for ‘Gamescom 2022’ in two weeks.
