Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), has stated that the Romanian government can function without the presence of Ilie Bolojan.

Grindeanu indicated that he would support a government that includes the National Liberal Party (PNL), provided that Bolojan is not part of the arrangement. He asserted that there is life without Ilie Bolojan, suggesting that the country’s administration does not depend on a single individual.

In his assessment of the support surrounding Bolojan, Grindeanu compared the current wave of backing to the social media phenomenon associated with Călin Georgescu during the 2024 presidential elections, which were subsequently annulled.

The PSD leader raised specific concerns regarding the management of public resources. Grindeanu cited instances of subsidized flights from Oradea to Warsaw that reportedly carried only three passengers.

Grindeanu claimed that appointments proposed by the PNL for positions within transport companies had been rejected by Brussels.

Addressing political rumors, Grindeanu explicitly denied that any agreement exists between the social democrats and the AUR party following the motion against the Bolojan government.
