SpaceX Crew Dragon ISS personnel transport Crew-3 launch, postponed to November 3-Engadget Japanese version

NASA has postponed the launch of the Crew-3 mission scheduled for October 31st to November 3rd. The reason is that the weather was “unfavorable”. The new date, November 3rd, is forecast to have an 80% chance of good weather, so it seems unlikely that it will be postponed again.

Crew-3, as the name implies, is SpaceX Crew Dragon’s third commercial personnel transport mission to the International Space Station (ISS). This is the fourth time including the Demo-2 mission, which is treated as a test launch.

Although the launch has been postponed, NASA’s Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn, Kayla Barron, and ESA’s Matthias Maurer will be heading to the ISS until the day of the launch on the 3rd. You will be staying in the crew quarter of the Space Center.

If launched early in the morning on the 3rd local time, the Crew Dragon spacecraft will arrive and dock on the ISS at midnight of the day, and will be streamed on NASA TV and elsewhere as usual.

SpaceX’s spacecraft transport of commercial personnel Crew-1 took place in November 2020, but the Crew-2 mission, which was launched in April 2021, was relatively open. And, although the space travel mission Inspiration4 mission only for civilians was sandwiched in September, this Crew-3 mission is also an opportunity for about half a year (from Crew-2).

However, it is expected that the frequency of launches by SpaecX will increase in the future. The Crew-2 mission crew is still on the ISS, and after the Crew-3 mission crew arrives on the ISS, they will leave the ISS and return to the ground by November 7.
