On June 21, local time, the Spanish Olympic Committee President Blanco announced that due to the inability of all parties to reach an agreement, the joint bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics by the Spanish region of Aragon and Catalonia will be abandoned. In addition, the Spanish Olympic Committee rejected a proposal by Catalonia to host the 2030 Winter Olympics alone. The Spanish Olympic Committee said it would maintain dialogue with the International Olympic Committee and open the door to a bid to host the 2034 Winter Olympics.

The Spanish Olympic Committee previously planned to jointly bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics by Aragon and Catalonia, but the governments of Aragon and Catalonia have never been able to reach a consensus on issues such as venue allocation. (Headquarters reporter Wei Fan)
