Spectacular AMD Radeon RX 7000 “RDNA 3” Graphics Card Reference Design Seen in Fan-Made Rendering

AMD may have only teased its next-generation RDNA 3 Radeon RX 7000 graphics card, but we can get a glimpse of what the final product will look like from the rendered images created by Technetium.

This time, the renders were once again produced by Technetium who also posted renders of AMD Zen 4 “Ryzen 7000” CPUs last month.

Renders for the new RDNA 3 “Radeon RX 7000” graphics card are just as impressive and it looks like extra work has been done to make it as believable as the card AMD tested during the Ryzen 7000 announcement.

In the teaser released by AMD, you can see the graphics card that has the “RDNA 3” GPU core equipped with a Radeon RX 7000 series graphics card.

It appears to be slightly thicker than current cards such as the RX 6950 XT, and is a design that is likely to be one of the flagships of the lineup.

From a rendered image of the graphics card, we can see that the Radeon RX 7000 graphics card with RDNA 3 GPU is sized up to 3 slots and has many cooling fins.

The cooler shroud is very similar to the reference design used on the current card, and we can also see hints of RGB lighting on the front of the card.

The heatsink features a unique red trim on three of the heatsink fins next to the three 8-pin connectors, although Outlet, Angstornomics, reported a dual 8-pin connector as well some time ago.

This shroud comes with subtle hints of RGB working on the sides of the central fan and is simply a very nice and beautiful user rendering.

AMD has previously tweeted that “bigger doesn’t always mean better”, referring to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 announced a few days ago.

Note: Again, this is just a fan-made rendering, so your final design will be different, but this is very close to what the final product will look like.

AMD has confirmed that it will launch its RDNA 3 GPUs in November with a significant performance boost.

David Wang, senior vice president of engineering at AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group, says the next-generation GPUs for the Radeon RX 7000 series will achieve more than a 50% performance-per-watt improvement over current RDNA 2 GPUs.

The key features of the RDNA 3 GPUs highlighted by AMD are:

  • 5nm process goal
  • Advanced Chiplet Packaging
  • Research and Development Computing Unit
  • Optimized graphics pipeline
  • Next Generation AMD Infinity Cache
  • Improved ray tracing capabilities
  • Sophisticated adaptive power management
  • >50% more performance/Watt vs RDNA 2

The AMD Radeon RX 7000 “RDNA 3” GPU line based on the Nav 3x GPU has a confirmed launch date of November 3rd, with custom variants expected to arrive on the same day.

The design of the RDNA3 flagship that barely fits into 3 slots.

In the teaser image, lighting is used to emphasize the curves, but the overall image when viewed in a bright place has a rather angular impression, and unlike RDNA2 and earlier, it appears to be based on black. (unless it is light control)

This is the same design direction adopted from the RDNA2 refresh.

It has an 8Px3 connector, so unlike nVidia, it seems that AMD plans to go with the conventional 8P.

If it is 12VHPWR, the power supply needs to be replaced.

No matter how much share nVidia has, it may be difficult to spread 12VHPWR with only RTX4090 and RTX4080 16GB.

The official version of nVidia FE is all 12VHPWR regardless of power consumption, but I think a custom AIB model of RTX4080 12GB or less will use the usual 8P.

Given that, it’s hard to imagine that this 12VHPWR connector will become popular.

If it becomes popular at all, the next generation may go with 12VHPWR.

It’s a fan made rendering, but I’m glad to see the 8Px3 part. (bitter smile.
