CEO Kim Ji-yeon also said, “The most miraculous thing that has happened since (‘Squid Game’) was released on September 17th was the great support the world showed for a small show in Korean. I want to send it,” he said.

He continued, “Director Hwang Dong-hyuk is really a genius,” he said.

In the category where ‘Squid Game’ won the award, ‘The Good Road Bird’, ‘It’s a God’, ‘Small X’, ‘The Underground Railroad’ and ‘The White Lotus’ were nominated and competed.

Lee Jung-jae, who was nominated for the Outstanding Performance in a New Series, failed to win the award.

In this category, 10 actors including Lee Jung-jae were nominated, and the awards went to Tussauds Mdebu for ‘The Underground Railroad’ and Ethan Hawke for ‘The Good Road Bird’.

Jeong Ho-yeon, wearing a black dress, took to the stage as a presenter for the ‘Breakthrough Nonfictio’ series.

The ‘Gossum Awards’, sponsored by the Independent Filmer Project (IFP), an American independent film support group, is an awards ceremony for independent films, held in New York every year and celebrated its 31st anniversary this year.

‘Squid Game’ is a work that depicts the story of those who participated in a survival game with a prize of 45.6 billion won, risking their lives to become the ultimate winner, and has been watched by more than 142 million households around the world. .
