Sreesanth in IPL star auction; Total 1214 people

Mumbai: 1214 players in the mega star auction of IPL 2022. 896 Indian players and 318 foreign players registered for the auction. Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth is also among the registrants. Fifty lakh rupees has been set as the base price for Sri. The auction will take place on February 12 and 13.

Australia’s Man of the Match David Warner in the T20 World Cup, Man of the Match teammates Mitchell Marsh, R Ashwin, Yusvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Shami, Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandey, Suresh , Ambati Rayudu, Shardul Thakur, Robin Uthappa, Umesh Yadav, Dinesh Karthik, Ishant Kishan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have the highest base price of Rs 2 crore. Big guns like Mitchell Starc, Sam Curran, Ben Stoke, Chris Gayle, Joffre Archer and Chris Vokes are not up for auction this time. Out of a total of 1214 players, 270 are international players.

Ten teams, including newcomers Lucknow and team Ahmedabad, will take part in the auction. The Punjab Kings will be the highest bidder in the auction. Punjab, which has retained two players, has Rs 72 crore left.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has Rs 68 crore and Rajasthan Royals has Rs 62 crore. Team Lucknow can spend Rs 58 crore and Royal Challengers Bangalore Rs 57 crore. The other teams that can spend the most are Ahmedabad (52 crore), Chennai Super Kings (48 crore), Kolkata Knight Riders (48 crore), Mumbai Indians (48 crore) and Delhi Capitals (47.5 crore). The franchises have so far spent Rs 338 crore to retain players.

Most foreign players are from Australia. 59 people. Thirty people from England, 48 from South Africa and 36 from Sri Lanka will be part of the auction. There are 41 registered from the West Indies, 20 from Afghanistan and nine from Bangladesh.
