| Srinidhi and Churchill win Mangalam

Imphal: Srinidhi Deccan remained at the top position in League I football. Srinidhi’s progress was made by defeating Trau 2-1 in the away match.

Ashir Akhtar and Falguni Singh scored for Srinidhi in the match at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. Pritam Singh pulled a goal back in injury time for Trau in the second half. Srinidhi scored 34 points in 16 games and Trau scored 23 points in 15 games. Trau is in fifth place.

Trau’s players only managed to shoot once. Churchill Brothers defeated Mohammedan 2-1 in the evening match. The contest was held at Kishore Bharti Krirangan, Muhammad’s platform. Sharif Mohammad and Abdullah Sane scored for Churchill. Abiola Dauda scored a goal for Mohammed.

Churchill’s Momo Cisse and Mohammedan’s Zairut Kima were sent off after seeing a red card. Churchill is fourth with 23 points from 16 games and Muhammadan is ninth with 17 points.
