Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin paid a courtesy call on South Indian film superstar Rajinikanth, who is undergoing surgery at a hospital. He then had a brief discussion with the doctors about the treatment. State Health Minister M Subramaniam was also with Stalin.

Rajinikanth was admitted to Cauvery Hospital in Alwarpet, Chennai on May 28 due to dizziness. On Friday, ‘carotid artery revascularization’ was performed to remove the blockage in the carotid artery to restore normal blood flow to the brain.

The procedure involves making a hole in the neck and removing the obstruction by entering the affected artery. Police had beefed up security outside the Cauvery Hospital in view of the crowd of fans. Rajinikanth is expected to leave the hospital the next day.
