Starbucks Korea “Improve the treatment of employees by hiring 1,600 people within this year”

Starbucks Korea announced today (17th) that it will hire 1,600 new people by the end of the year by expanding nationwide recruitment in addition to the regular recruitment in each region.

Starbucks is also considering reorganizing the wage system, such as paying different hourly wages for baristas according to length of service and job competency and raising the wages of store managers, a Starbucks official said.

In addition, we plan to operate a TF to prevent overwork of our partners when conducting seasonal promotions or launching new products.

Starbucks partners have complained that the headquarters is holding various events from time to time and that the workload is excessive, and on the 7th of this month, they held a truck protest calling for the resolution of the manpower shortage.
