State award jury praises ‘Ayyappan and Koshy’, fans mourn Sachi’s absence

Ayyappan and Koshiyum were one of the most critically acclaimed films of recent times. Ayyappan was the screenwriter and director of Sachy who made his mark in the audience through Koshy. But while the film Ayyappan and Koshy continued to be successful, Sachi’s untimely departure left the audience in mourning. When Ayyappan and Koshy were nominated for Best Popular Film at the Kerala State Film Awards this time, the fans were disappointed and saddened that Sachi did not have the joy to share.

Ayyappan and Koshy won the award for Best Popular Film for Art. The producer of Ayyappan and Koshy will get Rs 1 lakh, a sculpture and a certificate. The director will receive the award in the same way. The jury described the film as an audience-pleasing presentation of the conflict between the elite and the common man, who enjoy the benefits of high social status, with a brilliant combination of artistic value and elements of popularity. Nanchiamma also received a special award this time. The award was for the song in the film Ayyappan and Koshy.

The jury selected The Great Indian Kitchen as the best film of the year.

When Jayasurya was nominated for Best Actor, Anna Benn won Best Actress.
