Thiruvananthapuram – Two policemen from Kovalam station gave a statement before the district crime branch against Congress MLA Eldos Kunnapalli, who is an accused in the rape case. On the 14th of last month, there was a reference to the arrival of 2 policemen on the complaint of a woman who had beaten an MLA about to kill herself in Kovalam. It is said in the woman’s statement that the police arrived after the locals informed her when a ruckus arose due to the beating.
The policemen’s statement is that the MLA informed that his wife was with him and then the woman and the MLA were taken in the car. This lends strength to the argument that the MLA was in Kovalam on the day the woman alleged the incident took place. The crime branch also collected the documents of the MLA who was staying at the Kovalam guest house that day.
The Additional Sessions Court will announce its verdict on Eldos Kunnappilly’s bail plea today. In addition to the earlier charges, the investigation team has submitted a report to the court including charges such as attempted murder and insulting women.
