[디지털투데이 AI리포터] The Steam online gaming platform has stopped downloading the Dolphin emulator, a Nintendo game emulator, to the Steam platform.

According to IT media TechRadar on the 29th (local time), the reason for preventing release is that the Dolphin emulator violates copyright laws by using encryption keys and decrypting ROMs without Nintendo’s approval.

“Nintendo is committed to protecting the hard work and creativity of video game engineers and developers,” said a Nintendo spokesperson.

The use of illegal imitators and clones hinders development and ultimately stifles innovation. Dolphin Emulator did not respond to the announcement and will be removed from Steam until a solution is provided.
